The beat-box

The beat-box, also known as''The Fifth Element’’ (for some), is a branch of the cultural movement called hip-hop, which derives from the role of the DJ which is to create databases or tracks for MC (Masters of Ceremony). The difference or originality of the beat.box is that these effects and bases are made and created with the mouth or more precisely with the respiratory system.
Although usually the beat-box is used as a mean ''to create'' undergraund bases, these are some divisions for this branch of hip-hop:
Freestyle: improvisation as its name suggests. The freestyle in Spain also considers the adaptation of thing that already exists, not just invented on the spot. This is true for both; the beat box and in the songs.
Covers: Versions of familiar topics. Covering techniques tipicaly involves making the rhythm while singing at a time.
Layer: It is a multitrack which consists of several layers of sound and reproduces them at the same time devoting for example one to the battery, other for the bass and one for the melody. The layering can be done with audio editing programs. Hardware is used to direct loopstations type machines which are responsible for making loops with the incoming signal.
Scratch: This branch is specifically dedicated to scratch vocal, which is emulated by the famous speech "ziggazigga" which produces a vinyl to be moved forward and backward.
These divisions or subdivisions have been greatly improved by people who are dedicated one hundred percent to beat-box and more than a hobby for them this is seen as an art.
